Luis Alberto Suárez Díaz

Luis Suárez(full name: Luis Alberto Suárez Díaz) is a Uruguayan striker and plays for Spanish club FC Barcelona and Uruguay national team.

Regarded as one of the best players in the world, Suárez has won FIFA Club World Cup Golden Ball award, FIFA Club World Cup Golden Boot award and FIFA Club World Cup MVP of the Final Match Trophy in 2015. In 2015-16 season, he got La Liga Pichichi Trophy, La Liga World Player of the Year, La Liga top assist provider, Barcelona Player of the Season (Trofeo Aldo Rovira) and Copa del Rey top goalscorer.

Suárez debuted for his national team in 2007. He scored three goals for his country in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In 2011, Suárez helped his team win the title of Copa América. Consequently, he was awarded the Copa América Player of the Tournament.

On 11 July 2014, Suárez signed a five-year contract with Barcelona for an undisclosed transfer fee. Barça confirmed Suárez would wear the number 9 shirt for the 2014–15 season. He, Messi and Neymar helped the club win La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.

Barcelona has been cooperating with United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund(UNICEF). They have helped more than 1 million children in 7 countries since 2006.

From 2006 to 2010, the two sides focused their work mainly on AIDS prevention and publicity in Swaziland, Malawi and Angola. Players of Barcelona also go to hospital to look after these sick kids. Since 2011, they have started to promote the significance of sports in education in South Africa, Ghana, Brazil and China.

According to a report, Barcelona and UNICEF will extend their contract until 2020.
